The term Hindu was actually coined by the West to describe all of the cultures of the Indus Valley in ancient India. Hence, Hinduism included a variety of customs, beliefs, philosophies, and rituals. Today many people would identify themselves as Hindu, but what that actually means to each person can be quite varied.
